Regular programmes Daily afternoon and weekly programmes are overseen by our social worker Mrs Linda Mpiyane and our day time carer Mr Matiwane. These include therapeutic, developmental, recreational, spiritual and educational programmes. We are privileged to have had the services of Rhodes University Psychology Masters Students to conduct regular counselling sessions with various groups of boys.
During the school holidays we run a series of activities. A recent programme included

Football Eluxolweni U15 and U17 teams are registered with the Makana local soccer league and play matches regularly. Friendly matches are also played against the staff and patients at the Fort England Psychiatric Hospital as well as the St Andrews College teams.
Church involvement A number of churches groups of various denominations visit Eluxolweni and participate in worship and prayer with the boys. The boys continue to worship at the Cathedral, several have been baptised and confirmed. Several of our boys act as servers and one runs the sound systems at the 9:30am service. At Easter the boys attended church at Grahamstown Cathedral on Good Friday and Easter Sunday and they were given Easter eggs and a special lunch.
