Our boys

Currently we have 18 boys living with us and their ages range between 8 and 18.

They comprise Black South African citizens and mixed race South African citizens. We aim to increase our numbers to 30 over the 2019/2020 financial year. Eluxolweni CYCC is registered to house 33 boys.

Admissions
Children on the streets maybe referred to Eluxolweni CYCC by concerned citizens. These children are then linked to a social worker in the Department of Social Development for assessment and appropriate placement.

The Department of Social Development and the Child and Family Welfare Society refer children to Eluxolweni CYCC after due process through the Children’s Court. Emergency placements are made by social workers or the police in exceptional cases. Such children are then processed through the Children's
Court.
